Fall Mini Sessions at Sutro Park: 2025 Recap

The morning light at Sutro Park has a quiet kind of magic: soft, diffused, and full of calm. Over two mornings this October, I had the joy of photographing so many wonderful families against this beautiful San Francisco backdrop.

Sutro Park is one of my favorite locations in the city. Between the tall trees, ocean views, and that cool coastal air, it offers the perfect mix of nature and texture.

Mini sessions are short, but they’re packed with connection. In just twenty minutes, I get to capture so much personality: kids running through the grass, quiet moments between parents, and genuine laughter that unfolds naturally.

Below are a few of my favorite images from the weekend:

Family of four with two teenage daughters under the cypress trees at Sutro Park
Parents and their two little boys sitting on a log above Ocean Beach at Sutro Park
Mother crouching to hold hands with her toddler son at Sutro Park
Couple smiling together beside the stone stairs at Sutro Park
Two teenage sisters leaning on a stone wall with Ocean Beach behind them
Family of four sitting at the base of a big cypress tree at Sutro Park
Father lifting his laughing baby overhead among the cypress trees at Sutro Park
Family of four sitting on a log with the Richmond District behind them
Mother hugging her son from behind among the cypress trunks at Sutro Park

To everyone who came out for these sessions, thank you for trusting me with your memories. Meeting new families was such a highlight of my fall season.

Mini sessions run a few times a year, and the location changes each time. You’ll find how they work, and the dates whenever booking is open, on my mini sessions page. Follow along on Instagram at @mdcfamilies to be the first to know when bookings open.
