A Golden Hour Family Maternity Session at Lands End
There’s something truly special about photographing returning clients — seeing their families grow and capturing new chapters of their story. This session was one of those moments.
I first photographed this sweet family not long ago, and it was such a joy to see them again — this time with mom expecting their second little one. We met at Lands End in San Francisco, tucked among the tall eucalyptus trees where the light filters in beautifully through the branches.
We planned the session around golden hour, hoping to catch that soft sunset glow. But San Francisco had other plans — the fog rolled in early, wrapping the trees in a cool, cloudy mist. Even without the sun, the light was dreamy and soft, creating a timeless, intimate feel that perfectly matched this season of anticipation and love.
Their daughter was full of energy and curiosity, holding her parents’ hands, and laughing as the wind blew through her hair. The connection between the three of them — soon to be four — was so genuine. You could feel the excitement in every glance and embrace.
Sometimes the best sessions are the ones that surprise you. The overcast skies gave us a moodier palette that made the greens richer, the skin tones softer, and the love between this family stand out even more.
It’s always an honor to be invited back to document another milestone, and this session was no exception. I can’t wait to meet their newest little addition soon.
