Family Session in Jackson Square | A Downtown San Francisco Vibe

When a returning family reaches out for another session, it’s always such a special feeling — like catching up with old friends. This session was especially meaningful as they celebrated their third child turning one! They wanted something a little different this time — a city vibe that reflected their love for San Francisco.

We chose Jackson Square, one of my favorite hidden gems in the city. It’s filled with historic brick buildings, cobblestone textures, and tucked-away alleyways that photograph beautifully in the morning light. We started in a quiet alleyway where the kids could move around and play — it made for some fun, candid action shots that captured their personalities perfectly.

Just a short walk away, we found another alley with the Transamerica Building peeking through in the background — a classic San Francisco landmark that added the perfect touch of the city’s character to the session. Between the laughter, the kids running between their parents, and the little birthday moments, this session was such a sweet reminder of why I love documenting families as they grow.

I’m so grateful for families like this one who invite me back. Watching their story unfold through my lens is one of the best parts of what I do.
